In a unique ensemble, the "Lake Brass" ensemble unfolds a sound world that is equally powerful and nuanced. Twelve horns, complemented by two tenor horns, tuba, and drums, form a rare and almost unique sound image. The musicians are all professionally trained artists who have studied at renowned music conservatories both domestically and abroad and are now active in prominent orchestras across Europe. This special combination allows for timbres and musical tension arcs that can rarely be experienced live. The musical direction is led by Prof. Norbert Stertz, Professor of Horn at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold. Under his experienced leadership, the ensemble combines technical precision with great expressiveness and musical depth. The program spans a wide range from classical to impressive film music. Works by Ludwig van Beethoven and Richard Wagner are on the program, as well as epic sound worlds by Hans Zimmer. The repertoire is complemented by well-known film scores that impress with emotional power and atmospheric density.
