In 1523, there was even a dispute over Solothurn gold. So, was a lot found? It takes a trained eye to find gold in the rivers of the Swiss Plateau. The lecture takes you on a search for the precious metal in Swiss waters: Where does the gold come from? How did it get into the Plateau over millennia? How did the "old ones" go gold prospecting back then? How do you still find gold today? With a pinch of geology and insights from historians and archaeologists, we follow the trail of gold through the magnificent landscapes of Switzerland – gold prospecting with pictures and short film sequences in the lecture hall – all without wet feet and back pain.
