Description
It was a culture full of life, with a rich religious tradition and lively contacts with other Jewish communities in Vorderösterreich and nearby Switzerland. On our excursion, we want to jointly embark on a search for traces in the idyllic landscape of the High Rhine and explore a piece of this forgotten culture on foot. In the two neighboring communities of Randegg and Gailingen, we try to get closer to the history of the people who lived here. In Randegg, we visit the former Jewish village center and the Jewish cemetery; in Gailingen, the former Jewish school building, which today houses a Jewish museum. We will be guided by the theologian and former head of the catechetical department in Schaffhausen, Eduard Ludigs. Please register by October 25, 2026, at reginawettstein@gmx.ch
