Description
A confusing play about the impossibility of understanding the fact of transience – touching and funny at the same time. Iwan Iljitsch – 45 years old, lawyer – has achieved everything: career, family, status, the right friends. Throughout his life, he has met all expectations and successfully kept his life at bay. A ridiculous accident shakes the foundation of his existence and forces him to go on an inner journey – his first and last. Leo Tolstoy's novella "The Death of Ivan Ilyich," published in 1886, impresses with the immense mastery with which the Russian poet makes the death struggle of his protagonist palpable. The DAKAR theater adaptation deals with human fear of death and its powerlessness against fate in a darkly humorous human and puppet play. "Like every good piece that tells of death, it speaks of life." - Affoltern Gazette Concept and play: Delia Dahinden and Anna Karger Director: Alberto García Sánchez Live music and composition: Balts Nill Puppet construction: Delia Dahinden Dramaturgy: Dominik Busch Stage design: Lukas Roth Photo: Mina Monsef dakar-produktion.chHighlights
