The power of dance by Marcos Morau meets the maestro of film music Ennio Morricone: «Notte Morricone» is a visually powerful homage to the Italian grandmaster of film music. Known for the surreal imagery of his choreographies, Marcos Morau is particularly interested in the intersections of various arts – from dance to film to music – creating playful imaginary worlds and poetic landscapes. In his «Night with Morricone», Morau bows with 16 dancers to Morricone's work, which goes far beyond the scoring of spaghetti westerns with legendary music for films like «Once Upon a Time in America» and «Cinema Paradiso». At the same time, Morau adopts Morricone's oeuvre from the perspective of another generation and thus creates his very personal narrative cosmos. The result: a visionary choreography that hovers between dreams, symbolism, reality, and linguistic connections. The internationally celebrated choreographer MARCOS MORAU is working with ATERBALLETTO for the first time in 2024. Known for his visionary power, he merges dance, imagery, and music into unique, modern theatrical narratives.
