On Saturday, December 5, 2026, Escholzmatt transforms into a festive Advent world.
The Äschlismatter Christmas Market takes place from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the parish hall, on the schoolyard, and in the gymnasium Pfarrmatte, inviting visitors with a warm atmosphere to browse, linger, and enjoy. At the full hour, Christmas music concerts by the Escholzmatt-Marbach Music School will be performed in the adjacent multi-purpose room – a special musical highlight. At 5:00 PM, the Samichlaus will arrive and invite everyone for a photo shoot – a magical moment for the whole family. For creative minds, there will be snow globe crafting at the youth center, loving gingerbread decorating, fairy tale stories, and other surprises from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Culinary delights include hot chestnuts, a cozy raclette stall, and the Chlause-Beizli. Additionally, traditional yodelers, goat horn blowers, and Schybimusik will create a lively atmosphere. Wintery. Heartfelt. Unforgettable.
