Description

The event initiated in 2013, held every two years, offers a comprehensive insight into the world of artisans – from blacksmiths to glassblowers to potters and enamellers. Artists and craftsmen from the field of fire art will set up their stalls in the heart of Gruyères to showcase their respective creations. Functional objects or sculptures made from noble materials, often found in traditional creations (bowls, ceramics and Raku ware, glass…) or in distinctly contemporary works.
The artists are on site to talk about their art and the materials they master. Some work at their stalls to the great delight of the audience. The exhibitors of "Arts du Feu" come from Switzerland, France, and other countries; some are regular guests of the event. An accompanying program features live demonstrations, dedicated to the know-how passed down from generation to generation. These traditional techniques serve the needs of today.
