Description

Twelve spacecraft have landed on Earth. Where did they come from? What do they want? And why now? Answers are to be found by linguist Louise Banks, played by Amy Adams. Together with physicist Ian Donnelly (Jeremy Renner), she attempts to make contact with the mysterious aliens and decipher their language. The encounter with visitors from another planet will forever change not only the fate of the scientist herself but also the future of all humanity. Denis Villeneuve's intimate sci-fi film is based on a seemingly simple story about the power of communication and the necessity of understanding.
