arms (not weapons) Dance piece for ages 14 and up
Duration: approx. 60 min. arms (not weapons) is an accessible dance performance blending pop, language, and movement. The performers name their bodies, movements, and sensations in simple language, reminiscent of pop songs and audio descriptions. Body(parts) become connections: between pop cultural fragments, new refrains emerge, where meanings shift, reveal themselves, and transition into the absurd or something else. Dancer and choreographer Nina Maria Richard navigates between dance, voice, and text. Trained in London and Pamplona, she works in Switzerland and internationally as a freelance artist, seeking accessible, precise, and body-oriented forms in her work. demi Jakob works at the intersection of music, performance, and light design. In the context of dance and theater, demi combines pop cultural sensitivity with conceptual precision, bringing experience from songwriting, composition, and stage work into various collaborations.
