It’s wedding night. The party is coming to an end, and most of the guests have left. Only close friends and family of the couple remain. Between fatigue and alcohol-induced haze, this "blended family" begins to exchange words as they have never dared to before. Usually, they hide. They pretend. To be cis-hetero, white, and to lead a comfortable life. But on this wedding night, the masks fall, and the veil lifts. They dive into the depths of the present, summoning the ghosts of the past. How to live with dignity in a world governed by authoritarian and anxiety-inducing regimes? Intertwining staging and choreography, the performance reveals traumas and utopias, shaping an authentic constellation of introspective portraits. At its center, friendship serves as the driving force behind the dynamics of resistance against the rise of fascism. This is the first collaboration between Gisèle Vienne and playwright Marie NDiaye, who writes an original play in collaboration with her staging and choreographic work. With "L’Étang" based on Robert Walser, Gisèle Vienne stirs the audience at TPR (2023). She regularly showcases her multidisciplinary work with other artists such as writer Dennis Cooper or actor Jonathan Capdevielle. Her work has been the subject of several publications. Marie NDiaye is a Franco-Senegalese novelist, playwright, and screenwriter who constructs a unique literary oeuvre around trouble, ambivalence, and uncertainty. Family, as a site of unspoken truths, and the transition from one social milieu to another are at the heart of her fictions. She won the Prix Femina in 2001 for "Rosie Carpe," the Prix Goncourt in 2009 for her famous "Three Powerful Women," and in 2020, the Prix Marguerite-Yourcenar for her entire body of work.
