Fine musical theater «Iheimeschi Choscht us der Hoschtet» and the Röseligarten. A journey through time, traced or better sung by the trio "Bärner Rose" with Ursula Fahrni and Markus Metzger and Udo Auch on the accordion. With their clear, soft voices, they accompany an alert young lad from the Oberland into the then wide world. Rejected by his beloved girl, who was not averse to desire but still knew nothing of married life, he set out on his journey: to the market town of Thun, through the Emmental to Burgdorf and finally to Basel. One or another little adventure that the lively, often "masleidige" farm boy experienced on his journey recalls the time when not every house had a telephone on the wall. The railway cost almost a fortune, and one was happy to ride a few kilometers on a "Ritwägeli or Märitgschpann." Communicating by long-distance call was often only possible in the village inn or post office, which meant that "private" matters were soon spread throughout the village. So the only option left was to write a letter.
