The singer/songwriter has been performing on stages for many years, mostly accompanied by the band BORDER AFFAIR. Now he is giving up the band, returning "Back to the Roots" with just guitar, harp, voice, and his touching song stories. Andy Trinkler impresses with good, life-related lyrics and powerful compositions, roots rock, folk, and Americana in one, unpretentious and genuine, without copying what has been heard a thousand times. And sometimes he needs "...23 years to write this song and 3 minutes to sing it" (quote about the song "No Big Story"). With typical storytelling, where the background stories are not neglected, these songs take the listener on a musical journey; dynamic and thoughtful at the same time, but also with a healthy dose of humor and self-irony. Born and raised in Bern, he began writing songs himself in the early 1980s and played in various bands, first as a bassist, later as a guitarist and singer. He was inspired by greats like James McMurtry, Townes VanZandt, or Jackson Browne, but his songs always remain independent and grounded. Because over 40 years and countless concerts at home and abroad are the real whetstone in the life of a songwriter - and you can feel it!
