Klaus Birk, Tübingen's cabaret master and Andreas Müller, radio star and parody professional from Baden-Baden, achieve the impossible: understanding between dialects – and beyond. They speak Swabian, Badisch, High German, Länd, Bünd, and European English, (even if England has withdrawn from the EU). And lo and behold: they understand each other! Even without subtitles. In HomeLändZack! they bring order to chaos – or at least orderly chaos to order:
With sharp wit and fine humor, they dissect labor shortages, health policy, and intergalactic migration strategies – because somewhere out there, there’s surely an alien with a completed vocational training.
There is too much bureaucracy, but no more skilled workers to reduce it. Everywhere there’s traffic jam – because roads are being rebuilt to prevent traffic jams in the future. Special assets are being taken on – to hide the special incapacity.
And suddenly animals appear everywhere: beavers, raccoons, wolves, lynxes, ox frogs, flocks of crows, and field hares. What do they want to tell us? Maybe: "You are not alone – we stand behind you – to bite you hard in the ass."
Birk & Müller combine homeland feeling with world view, parody with poetry, and chaos with insight.
Because after the election is before the election, and those who laugh last have at least understood.
