As a child, Mervan Ürkmez was not allowed to take the sports course "Rhythmic Gymnastics" in school – simply because he was a boy. Today, the actor fulfills his childhood dream and embarks on an experiment for the development of the piece: He trains intensively in Rhythmic Gymnastics for a year while simultaneously undertaking extensive research. In conversations with numerous experts, he examines transformation processes in nature and society, as well as individual and collective insecurities in light of the overlapping societal crises and upheavals of our time. A personal and highly political gymnastics performance emerges about the power to overcome fears, the search for hope – and the beauty of colorful, swinging ribbons as a response to darkness. Or, to quote Rihanna: "We found love in a hopeless place." Our ensemble member Mervan Ürkmez brings his successful solo to the house and invites you to an evening that hits right in the heart.
