Description
Exactly 200 years after Ludwig van Beethoven's death, Rudolf Buchbinder dedicates a recital to the composer as part of Le Piano Symphonique. Hardly any pianist has engaged with Beethoven as intensively over decades as Buchbinder – as an interpreter, editor, and musical thinker. The program spans a wide range: from the early Piano Sonata No. 3 in C major through the Moonlight Sonata to the late Sonata op. 109 and the Appassionata. Thus, Beethoven is heard not as a monument, but as a composer in motion – radical, searching, visionary. Rudolf Buchbinder plays this program exclusively in Lucerne, Switzerland. Cast
