Description
After the visit of Hervé Niquet and the Concert Spirituel, the exploration continues with a second exceptional meeting featuring a true giant of early music: Ton Koopman. A harpsichordist, organist, and conductor, he is a prominent and pioneering figure in the interpretation of baroque music and one of the leading specialists in Johann Sebastian Bach. For over fifty years, he has explored this repertoire. Founder of the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra and the associated choir, he has forged a recognizable sound based on period instruments, closely aligned with the sonorities and techniques used at the time. Regularly invited to the greatest halls and international festivals, the orchestra and choir are now among the reference ensembles for the baroque repertoire. At Noda BCVS, he presents us with Johann Sebastian Bach's Christmas Oratorio, a jewel of inventiveness and light. Whether one is a believer or simply a lover of music, it is hard to resist the power of this sound fresco. "Rejoice, be glad": the first words of the Christmas Oratorio are an invitation to celebration, calling us, without delay, to the joy of gathering for this concert.
