Description

Hamlet is in a room, living out his story in complete solitude. The events and characters have unfolded before his very eyes. The tragedy lies in his compulsion to remain there and speak to characters who are no longer present. Only the chairs keep him company. The only real presence is the ghost of his father, who is able to inform him of what truly happened. The story is the one we all know, but Shakespeare’s text is deconstructed and reintroduced on stage through a soliloquy.
