Description

The trio AMBÄCK – known to the Lindau audience from the Cavazzen opening – stands for a dance-like dialogue between tradition, composition, and improvisation. The musical breakthrough has long been achieved. Now it's no longer about distancing from the old traditions – AMBÄCK delve deeper into their self-created dimension, which is capable of spanning the entire space between ground and clouds. Sometimes we are closer to the musical nurturing ground of the three Inner Swiss, as in the two "Stöpsel", but we can never be sure that we won't suddenly land in the clouds: in "Birbäumli" for example, we still think we're in an ancient folk song, where Örgeli, violin, and double bass tell us an eternally valid legend in melancholic harmony, and suddenly we gallop away in changing rhythms. The web pattern of AMBÄCK's sound tapestry is thus even more tangled, yet we gladly lay on it and enjoy the sometimes wild, sometimes gently undulating musical ride. This is due to the technical and virtuoso brilliance of the trio around Andreas Gabriel (violin), Pirmin Huber (double bass), and Markus Flückiger (Schwyzerörgeli).
