Description

Valentin is on the verge of fulfilling his biggest dream in life: being accepted into the Papal Swiss Guard. The last step in the selection process is a personal visit from the captain to his home. This should be no problem, as Valentin meets all the requirements: young, Catholic, military trained – and of course single. At least he thinks so. What Valentin does not know is that his housemate Corina, who is also the registrar of the village, has secretly married him to an older widow from the canton of Thurgau. With this fictitious marriage, she aims to protect the local registry office from budget cuts imposed by the canton. But just now, a cantonal inspection is on the horizon – and the deception is at risk of being exposed. Suddenly, Valentin finds himself in a seemingly unsolvable dilemma: for one appointment he must be married, while for the other he must absolutely not be. A rapid game of confusion begins, filled with surprising twists, quirky situations, and tumultuous misunderstandings. Anything but holy – but guaranteed to be a heavenly entertainment that will have the audience laughing in a papal manner.
