Description
Although Porter, without ever claiming anything else, reaches into the magician's trick box, illusion and reality blur into each other over the course of the evening. His craft seems to have condensed even more over the decades, and those who watch him cannot help but question their own perception. In "Hallucination," Porter deceives his audience thoroughly and yet increasingly reveals himself as a de-illusionist. He shows strong evergreen tricks and vocal acrobatic singing performances. His magic is to be understood as poetic anarchy. Porter's interactivity with the audience, combined with his honest self-irony, makes the evening an escape point, a poetic stopover in our often hallucination-less world. "Hallucination is weightless and agile, and easily shows that while you can look at reality from different sides, reality cannot be arbitrarily bent" – voice from the audience.
