Honest and personal, this is how Aleksandra Mikulska's playing can be characterized. In the concert
she wants to open up foreign worlds and touch people with complete devotion – whether with the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, Joseph Haydn, Franz
Liszt or her compatriot Frédéric Chopin. Aleksandra Mikulska, one of the best Chopin interpreters of our time, if not the best!! Growing up in Warsaw, she developed
a great love for his piano music as a child, and in the Chopin
Competition 2005, she was awarded as the best Polish pianist. For her studies, she moved to Mannheim, Karlsruhe (Peter Eicher), Imola (Lazar Berman, Michel Dalberto), and
Hannover (Arie Vardi). Aleksandra Mikulska has played with renowned orchestras under the
conduct of Michael Sanderling, Pawel Przytocki, Kaspar Zehnder, Johannes Schlaefli, Stefan
Fraas, and Philippe Bach; she has performed in major venues such as the Vienna Musikverein,
Brucknerhaus Linz, and Zurich Tonhalle. She is a regular guest at international
festivals. The German-Polish cooperation is a heartfelt concern for Aleksandra Mikulska as president of the
Chopin Society in Darmstadt. She also advocates for the
rediscovery of lesser-known composers from her homeland such as Julian Fontana,
Miłosz Magin, Artur Malawski, and Karol Szymanowski. Besides solo repertoire,
Aleksandra Mikulska dedicates herself to chamber music in experimental arrangements as well as songs
of Polish and German Romanticism. For her latest album "Reflections," she combined
Sonatas in B minor by Chopin and Liszt. Aleksandra Mikulska teaches as a professor of
piano at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden. After the great concerts in 2024 and 2025, it has been possible to invite her again for a concert in our Kurtheater!! Tickets
