Albert Mountain Award and UIAA Awards

Description

The King Albert I Memorial Foundation awards individuals and organizations that have "earned recognition through extraordinary and sustainable achievements related to the mountains of the world." The Albert Mountain Award has been awarded 56 times to various personalities from mountaineering, geography, geology, literature, photography, or altitude medicine. This year, the UIAA (Union Internationale des Associations d’Alpinisme) is additionally awarding two more prizes. The winners of the Albert Mountain Award this year are Marion Poitevin, Gela Mtivlishvili, Robert Bösch, and Günter Schmudlach. The UIAA Awards go to Flagship Shelters for the Environment and Walking the Tra Tra. Program Public Award Ceremony:

General Information

The Albert Mountain Award Ceremony 2026 takes place at the ALPS Alpine Museum of Switzerland in Bern. The event honors individuals and organizations for their extraordinary contributions to mountain protection and includes talks with the award winners as well as a reception event.
