Aktion Weihnachtspäckli

Description

The "Aktion Weihnachtspäckli" has been organized for many years across Switzerland by four aid organizations operating in Eastern Europe. It starts in Domat/Ems on Saturday, Nov. 7, with a stand event from 9 am to 4 pm in front of Coop and Migros. Afterwards, donations of goods or money are accepted until Nov. 13 at the women's club premises from 1:30 pm to 4 pm. The packages contain food, hygiene items, knitting goods, toys, school supplies, and sweets. To make the packages space-efficient for loading, easy to customs-clear, and simple to distribute, a team packs the standard packages. Last year, 115,750 children and adults in Albania, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, Belarus, Kosovo, and war-torn Ukraine received a package. For many, it was the only Christmas gift.
