Description
Akkordeon Solothurn presents together with the Accordion Orchestra Heilbronn-Neckargartach the world premiere of a composition by Jan Watson for Accordion Year 2026. What started during World War II with a soup kitchen in Heilbronn developed over the years into a deep friendship between the two cities and their residents — and even some marriages have their origin here. We are very pleased to welcome our long-standing friends from the Accordion Orchestra Heilbronn-Neckargartach to our this year's annual concert. For once, our annual concert takes place outside Solothurn — and for the first time in the Langendorf Concert Hall. The accordion was chosen as the instrument of the year 2026. We took this special event as an opportunity to commission a composition from the internationally renowned English accordion composer Jan Watson. The wish to the composer was to express the love for our instrument as well as the friendship between our two orchestras. We are proud and delighted to premiere this work together with our friends from Heilbronn. This year, we are also allowed to perform our annual concert twice: at 3:00 PM and at 8:00 PM. During the breaks, we will treat you at Conny's Cüplibar as well as at the bar in the foyer with homemade baked goods, sandwiches, and drinks.
