Verdi's Aida is one of the classics of the opera repertoire and remains a crowd favorite to this day. With gripping and musically compelling storytelling, Verdi depicts an emotionally intense relationship drama set against a political backdrop, where personal feelings and political calculations clash irreconcilably. The tragic story of Aida and Radamès is marked by monumental choruses, heartfelt arias, and passionate duets – and not least by the world-famous Triumph March, which has achieved cult status far beyond the opera. Frédéric Roels directs Verdi's masterpiece in cooperation with the Opéra Grand Avignon. The musical direction is by Yannis Pouspourikas. Participants: Theater Orchestra Biel Solothurn
