With «Lotus Effect», AEIOU return after an intense creative phase: four years full of sound experiments, songwriting sessions, and idea loops. Away from the fast release cycle, the band deliberately took time to further develop their style, refine sound worlds, and shape songs with depth. «Lotus Effect» is not a run-of-the-mill album but a statement of danceable grooves, thoughtful moments, and playful details – an album that shows how much brilliance can emerge when you take time to grow underground. The fourth AEIOU album stands for a principle: the «Lotus Effect». It means that burdens bounce off and music continues to grow despite difficult circumstances. Electrifying synth-pop meets danceability and playfulness, yet does not shy away from heavy themes or unusual instruments. The synth-pop band AEIOU comes from Bern, Liechtenstein, and Biel and consists of the brilliant Züri-West keyboardist and producer Oli Kuster, the insider tip singer Karin Ospelt, and one of the most sought-after drummers in the scene, Kevin Chesham. The songs on their new AEIOU album tell of bitter aftertaste in «Before After Taste» and unequal power imbalances in «Top Down». «Gap» deals with the gender pay gap and emotional distance. «Ballpoint Pen» captures everyday observations of a ballpoint pen, while «Let It Last» celebrates the desire for permanence and depth. The title track «Lotus Effect» sums it all up: keep going, bounce off, bloom!
