Description
Adela Liculescu is one of the outstanding pianists of her generation. She has left a lasting impression on Bern audiences since winning the Prix du Piano Bern in 2018. Since then, the Vienna-based Romanian pianist has built an impressive international career and established herself globally as a soloist, chamber musician, and artistic researcher. Concert engagements have taken her to renowned venues such as the Vienna Musikverein, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Berlin Philharmonie, and the Mozarteum in Salzburg. As the pianist of the Philharmonic Five ensemble—composed of members of the Vienna Philharmonic—she performs regularly at the Vienna Konzerthaus. In 2025, she was awarded the Award of Excellence by the Republic of Austria for her dissertation on Franz Liszt’s piano music, which she completed with honors. Since 2026, she has been a Senior Artist for Piano at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. For her recital in the Young Piano Series, Adela Liculescu has put together a program that is as extraordinary as it is personal, which she will introduce herself. The program centers on fascinating works by female composers, foremost among them Marianna Martines and Cécile Chaminade, interwoven with music by Chopin, Liszt, and the precocious child prodigy Carl Filtsch, who died at a young age. With engaging commentary and rarely heard works, the artist invites the audience on an inspiring musical journey of discovery. Concert Program: Marianna Martines (1744–1812)
