Description

The starting shot for greater fame of AB Syndrom was in 2017 with the song
Flaggschiff, which the band achieved its first radio airplay and now more than 2.5
million streams on Spotify. The Berlin musicians have been completely
DIY from the beginning and polarize. This means that everything from music production, artwork to
music videos is produced consistently in-house and released on their self-founded indie label. And this consistency is audible and palpable.
Unusual electronic sounds and intricate beats form the basis for the poetry woven into it.
Bennet's extremely personal and autobiographical lyrics offer deep insight into the soul.
Through striking voice distortion and lyrical abstraction, the songs, despite all subjectivity, leave room for personal references.
The focus on the personal also shapes AB Syndrom's live shows. On stage, only Anton's,
with pads-equipped drum set and a keyboard, with which the duo adapts the electronic
sound of the album for the stage. Everything is generated in the moment: no
backing tracks, no lifeless show to a pre-made tape.
Since Flaggschiff, an intense time has passed for the band: 2019 touring with Mine through
Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, shortly after concerts in Vietnam, Hong Kong, and
Manila. 2020 Frontalcrash album release during the Corona lockdown and subsequently
streaming concerts including DLF Nova and c/o pop from a huge
former heating plant. 2022 then post-Corona restart: with the album Tut mir gut Tut
mir Leid, they generated radio airplay nationwide and went on their first headliner tour through 7 cities— including a live concert at radioeins. 2024/25
with the album Implosion and features with Trille, Roger Reckless,
Futurebae, and Mine, AB Syndrom achieved nationwide rotations in Germany and played at the Fusion Festival in front of
2500 people, at the RadioEins Parkfest, and on their subsequent Germany tour
through 9 cities.
AB Syndrom has thus established itself as a fusion of experimental electronic
sounds and ultra-personal German lyrics.
In fall 2026, they will go on tour with their new album. They will also stop in
Hamburg, specifically on October 18th at Bahnhof Pauli.
