A Show That the Law Will Consider Mine In this dance conference, choreographer Olga Dukhovna, accompanied by a lawyer, humorously and playfully explores the gray areas of copyright law as applied to dance. Is it permissible to reproduce a famous choreography by slowing it down? By speeding it up? What is the speed limit for it to be allowed?! Inspired by examples from the history of dance, from Nijinsky to Beyoncé, and her own practice, she replaces the PowerPoint with movement and transforms the stage into a living investigation ground. Swan Lake Solo In 2022, the onset of the war in Ukraine dealt a final blow to Olga Dukhovna's project: she abandoned the choreography of Swan Lake for 32 dancers, orchestra, and singers commissioned for the opening of a museum in Moscow. In a desire for ecological deconstruction, the Ukrainian choreographer then concentrates the entire ballet corps into that of a single performer: herself. With the help of composer Anton Svetlichny, she offers a playful yet respectful reinterpretation of Tchaikovsky's famous ballet. From all these impossibilities emerges a joyful choreography full of exhilarating freedom.
