Description
Weaving together How does an exhibition object emerge from shared knowledge, traditional craftsmanship, and contemporary architecture? As part of the exhibition “Amazonian Legacies – Art and Archaeology”, a woven roof based on traditional Amazonian building techniques was created through a collaboration between Darwin Grefa, community leader of the Quijos, and Ecuadorian architect Santiago del Hierro. The exhibition space thus becomes a place of exchange, where knowledge is not only communicated but also shared, practised, and kept alive through collective activity. This guided tour offers a behind-the-scenes look at the project, exploring its development and collaborative process. Participants will gain insight into the people, ideas, and craft traditions behind the woven roof on display. A guided tour for museum enthusiasts, curious minds, and anyone interested in learning more about the work behind the scenes and the making of a unique exhibition project. © Fernanda Ugalde / Darwin Grefa Guide: Fernanda Ugalde (Curator of Pre-Columbian Art), Rüdiger Schlömer (Head of Graphics), Santiago del Hierro (Architect)Highlights
