A Christmas Carol - A Christmas Story - Musical by Alan Menken and Lynn Ahrens | Based on Charles Dickens' work, German-language premiere

Description

"Bah! Humbug, this holiday!" The stingy and cruel moneylender Ebenezer Scrooge hates Christmas. Not even the festival of love can evoke compassion for his nephew or his employees. But then a ghost appears to him! It is his deceased business partner Jacob Marley. And he announces to Scrooge the visit of three more spirits. If the moneylender does not heed their advice, he will face the same terrible fate in the afterlife as Marley. Thus, the miser is visited on Christmas Eve by the spirits of past, present, and future Christmas, who show him his mistakes and their tragic consequences. Eventually, the old man comes to his senses; he reconciles with his nephew and employees. Scrooge becomes a Christmas fan! The enchanting musical for the whole family was premiered in 1994 at the Paramount Theatre in New York. Its composer Alan Menken also wrote the songs for the musical hits "The Little Shop of Horrors," "Beauty and the Beast," "Aladdin," and "Pocahontas." In 2016, "A Christmas Carol" had its European premiere in London. In Pforzheim, it will be performed for the first time in German. SOLOISTS, CHORUS, AND EXTRA CHORUS OF THE THEATER PFORZHEIM
