Description

It’s the most wonderful time of the year … Not for the old miser and moneylender Ebenezer Scrooge. Not only does he hate Christmas, but the singing in the streets and the people begging for alms also annoy him. Christmas, "the festival of love" – that’s just nonsense! He remains unmoved when a customer asks for an extension because she cannot repay her loan on time. Or when his employee Bob Cratchit would rather spend Christmas with his sick son than work. Or when his nephew Fred extends the annual Christmas invitation. But now it’s enough! His deceased business partner Marley, who was just as grumpy and miserly in life as Scrooge, appears to warn him – for if one lives so selfishly, one will find no peace even after death – and for Scrooge, it’s not too late. Marley sends him three spirits: The Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present, and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. These three show him the impact of his actions and how important it is to stand up for good. Can the heart of the old grouch really be warmed with a little ghostly magic? Director Ronny Jakubaschk realizes his second theater evening at the Lucerne Theater after "The Judge and His Executioner": colorful, visually striking, quirky, and musical.
