Description

Song evening with Julian Prégardien & Yael Kareth 9th Chamber Music Concert Julian Prégardien is considered one of the defining tenors of his generation. At the Salzburg Festival, the Bavarian State Opera, and in major concert halls across Europe, he is regularly celebrated as a singer of Bach and Mozart. His great love is the Lied. He is a charismatic ambassador of this genre, originating from the world of Franz Schubert. In 2026, Julian Prégardien became the artistic director of the Heidelberg Frühling Lied Center, and he is also a professor of oratorio in Munich. Julian Prégardien last performed a Lied evening in 2013 at Kammermusik Bern together with Julius Drake. Yael Kareth is Leibinger Professor of Transcultural Music Mediation and Music Education at the Barenboim-Said Academy in Berlin. Previously, she led the music department of the Israeli Opera and performed in Israel across a broad spectrum from chamber music to interdisciplinary projects. As an internationally active Lied pianist and chamber musician, she has worked with artists such as Thomas Hampson, Waltraud Meier, Guy Braunstein, and Avi Avital. With this concert, the pianist makes her debut in Bern.
