53rd Baden City Church Concerts - New Year's Eve concert with saxophone & organ

Description

Simon Fluri, saxophone and organist Antje Maria Traub play a concert at the end of the year.

The 53rd cycle of the Baden City Church Concerts ends with a brilliant concert.

Simon Fluri is a passionate soloist and chamber musician. From contemporary works to transcriptions of Bach, he makes the saxophone sound in a new light. The young musician creates memorable concert experiences with works by contemporary composers and immersive concert formats.
After Handel's La Réjouissance from the Fireworks Music, Fluri & Traub play the famous Bach Toccata in D minor in a version for saxophone and organ. This is followed by three wonderful romantic vocalises by the Canadian composer Denis Bédard. The finale - fitting for the end of the year - is Bédard's third sonata for organ and saxophone.
