5th Subscription Concert – Boundless Vastness

Description

For the last subscription concert of the season, the argovia philharmonic commissioned a composition from the "Composer in Residence" Fazıl Say. The audience can look forward to the world premiere under the direction of chief conductor Josep Vicent. We also welcome for the first time the Venezuelan cellist Gregorio Nieto, who will perform Camille Saint-Saëns' Cello Concerto No. 1. The work impresses with its rich melodies, showcasing both the dramatic and lyrical aspects of the cello. A musical emblem of Russian melancholy to conclude is Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2. Swelling cadences, emotional power, and especially the famous Adagio symbolize love, loss, and the composer's inner maturation, while a clear statement of hope and confidence emerges at the end. General Information

The 5th subscription concert of the argovia philharmonic takes place at the Kurtheater Baden and is conducted by chief conductor Josep Vicent. In addition to the world premiere of a new composition by Fazil Say, the Venezuelan cellist Gregorio Nieto will perform Saint-Saëns' Cello Concerto, followed by Rachmaninoff's emotional 2nd Symphony.
