Podium European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA) 3rd Chamber Music Concert This year's ECMA podium will again feature three young European chamber music ensembles to the Bernese public. The Bern University of the Arts has been a member of ECMA (European Chamber Music Academy) for over ten years and is part of a network of leading European music universities, academies, and festivals (www.ecma-music.com), which aims to train and promote young chamber music groups. It fascinates and delights me every year to see how the next generation of musicians increasingly shows interest and commitment, especially in chamber music. This musical discipline, which stands for mutual respect like no other and fascinates us through the beauty and complexity of its incredible masterpieces. And it is the next generations of young ensembles who carry the responsibility to keep the spirit of these works alive. Aida Piano Trio The Aida Piano Trio, winner of first prize at the International Chamber Music Competition CIMCA (Spain), was founded in 2022 in London. The ensemble has quickly established itself through performances characterized by intensity, sophistication, and strong cohesion. Elaia Quartet The Elaia Quartet, founded in 2020, made its debut in Italy, where it performed at the Ascoli Piceno Festival in autumn 2021. Subsequently, it was invited there as Artist in Residence for the following year and also performed several times at PODIUM Esslingen, participating in various concerts, educational formats, and a radio play production. The quartet was also Artist in Residence at the Ischgl Classics Festival in autumn 2023 and 2024, and performed in three concerts at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival 2024. Concert recordings were broadcast by NDR and SWR in 2024. Helix Trio The Helix Trio was founded in 2022 at the University of Music Basel FHNW. Currently, they are pursuing additional studies under the guidance of renowned professors such as Anton Kernjak, Claudio Martínez-Mehner, Zoltán Fejérvári, Silvia Simionescu, and Anna Gebert. Additionally, their artistic development continues to be supported by Patrick Jüdt and Johannes Meissl.
