Description
Spanish passion and fiery rhythms characterize the 3rd chamber concert of this season. We are pleased to welcome Pablo Sainz-Villegas as the soloist, who will lead the evening together with musicians from the argovia philharmonic. The concert opens with the Guitar Quintet in D major, G. 448 "Fandango" by Luigi Boccherini – one of his later works, in which he devoted himself to the guitar and combined Spanish dances with melodies. With works by Isaac Albéniz and Astor Piazzolla, we dive into the world of tango. The program continues with Joaquín Rodrigo's Andante from "Concierto de Aranjuez." No musical work embodies the significance of the classical guitar in Spanish music more – shaped by personal dramas and deep melancholy. Finally, Zequinha de Abreu's famous "Tico Tico" is played. It tells the story of a little bird and has become a true classic of Brazilian music due to its cheerful and captivating rhythm. Program:
