Ten years later, 28 bands, 70 releases, and over 100 acts are on the label's coaster, but the principle remains the same: from bands for bands. After the summer open-air anniversary shows, the club tour through Switzerland will follow, and at Rössli, it will be loud in three languages. Since 2018, the quartet from Zurich has been ensuring that 00s punk rock stays alive across Switzerland, providing the soundtrack for long nights, hungover mornings, and wild days. With personal lyrics and creative riffs, Kabuki Joe shows on their two albums Weight of the Week and This Will Pass how diverse this genre can be. While most bands like to search endlessly for the perfect genre description, the quartet from the Romandie prefers to simply play punk. Everything is allowed, and Faux Punk captures exactly that. Their short, fast, and energetic songs are influenced by melodic hardcore, US punk rock, and the French underground scene, with influences from Guerilla Poubelle and Justin(e) to Strung Out, Satanic Surfers, or Rise Against. Plus a pinch of Swiss understatement, et voilà, the explosive mix is ready. In their French lyrics, Malewicz process everyday frustration and the emotional consequences of living in a broken world. Their tone ranges from cynically direct to uncompromisingly angry, sometimes with a clear wink. On stage, Teo is at the center – energetic, close to the audience, and often right in the middle of it.
