How do I search for events on the map?

Short answer:

You can easily discover events or venues across the globe by using the search bar, applying filters, and exploring map markers. Follow the steps below to find your next experience.

Step‑by‑Step Guide:

1. Open the Eventsmapped site and navigate to the Map or Browse Events page.

2. Locate the Search Bar at the top of the map.

3. Enter keywords: City, countryside location, venue name, performer, or event title.

4. (Optional) Apply Filters such as date, category, or location radius to refine your discovery.

5. Press Search or hit Enter.

6. The map will populate with matching events and venues as pins or markers.

7. Tap on a map marker to view the details in a pop‑up or side panel.

8. Feel free to use the Zoom In/Out or Pan controls to adjust your view of the area.

9. To find your way there, select the event and click "Get directions", which will open your preferred navigation app.

What you can search / useful keywords:

• Venue name (e.g., "Grand Lake Pavilion", "City Hall Zurich")

• Event name or keyword (e.g., "Summer Music Festival")

• Location details (city, region, neighbourhood)

• Date or date range (to narrow down to events happening when you are free)

• Category or tag (concert, art fair, sports, outdoor)

Map Filters & Tools:

• Date filter: Show events on, after, or within a specific date range.

• Category filter: Only show events matching your selected interests.

• Location radius: Select a central point and a distance (e.g., 10 km) to focus your search area.

• View options: Toggle between map view, satellite view, or list view (if available).

• Reset/clear search: Use the "Clear" or "Reset Filters" option to start your discovery fresh.

Troubleshooting & “Why can’t I find my event?”

• Check that you spelled the venue or event name correctly.

• Confirm you are using the correct location details and avoiding vague abbreviations.

• Check that your date filter isn’t accidentally excluding the event.

• If the event is private or unlisted by the Event Mapper, it may not appear on the public map.

• Try zooming out or moving the map view—some markers might be just outside your current screen.

• Refresh the page or clear your cache if the map isn’t loading properly.

• If on mobile, ensure location services are enabled (if using the radius search).

• Contact our support team if you still can’t locate the event.
