Alice waits – for Rio, for answers, for a sign. Sometimes she searches for him, sometimes she escapes herself in her rusty car. Much has happened since their time together in art school: the big success was elusive, Rio has fallen into drug addiction and petty crime, barely getting by from deal to deal. Alice works as a waitress, clings to her music, and struggles to maintain the appearance of a stable life – between raves, shantytowns, and authorities. Only when friends intervene does her life start to change. Seven years later, Alice is back at Rio's door. Presented by: Sarah Elena Müller, moderated by: Steven Wyss, Sarah Elena Müller moves seamlessly between literature, music, research, and performance. With the spoken-pop combo Cruise Ship Misery, she has released two albums, most recently the songbook «Brutto Inland Netto Super Clean» published by Verlag der gesunde Menschenversand. Since 2024, she has been working with the team of the SNF project «Autofiktion & Bewusstsein». Her debut novel «Bild ohne Mädchen» has been published by Limmat Verlag, received multiple awards, and was nominated for the Swiss Book Prize. Sarah Elena Müller lives in Bümpliz.
