Ideas to note, explore, transform – Martial Leiter's sketchbooks tell a story, reveal stages, and deepen a thought until its completion or abandonment. In 2021, thanks to the support of the Amis de la BCUL, the Library acquired the notebooks mainly related to his work as a cartoonist in the press, but also sometimes the more 'free' part of his activity. The artistic gesture is revealed through these unique documents showing how Martial Leiter, from a quick note, arrives at a finished drawing.
