If you compare the Saas-Balen parish church with the round church facing it, the contrasts could not be greater. This (new) church dates from a completely different era and was already, in the 1950s, far ahead of its time and of common church constructions. Even today, it has not lost its charm, as the larger-than-life and impressive works by Saas artist Werner Zurbriggen present condensed biblical stories to the extreme, while offering an immeasurable margin of interpretation. The theologian and historian Stefan Dominik Furrer takes you on an exploratory journey during which you will discover, among other things, these milestones of art.
